Parkrun Practice Initiative

A parkrun practice is one that makes a commitment to promoting Parkrun

Dunfanaghy & Creeslough Health centres are proud to be parkrun Practices. We have developed a close link to the Falcarragh Parkrun  and we aim to promote this by “prescribing” parkrun to our patients.

What is a parkrun ?

The Falcarragh parkrun is a free, weekly 5km timed community event  that takes place at 9.30am every Saturday morning in Ballyconnell Estate

You can volunteer / run or walk the course / spectate – take part in any way that suits you

Open to everyone of all abilities and health problems

Opportunity to make friends and be part of a welcoming community

Why is this important to us?

This will improve the health and wellbeing of patients, carers and practice staff and reduce the need for medication.

Proven benefits for physical and mental health from volunteering, spectating, walking or jogging

Support the national movement to scale up social prescribing activities – our social prescriber is Bernadette McFadden and her number is : 086 076 6670

How to get started?
